The Farmers Arms is a busy, well-loved pub in the heart of Ulverston, and we’re looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team.

The Role
As Assistant General Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the business, helping to maintain high standards across service, operations, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager and leadership team in overseeing daily pub and restaurant operations
- Lead, motivate, and develop the front-of-house team
- Deliver exceptional customer service and handle guest feedback professionally
- Manage stock control, cellar operations, and cash handling procedures
- Help plan and promote events, offers, and seasonal activity
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and company procedures
- Maintain consistently high standards across all areas of the business
About You

- Experienced in restaurant and bar operations
- A confident and approachable leader
- Hands-on, proactive, and highly organised
- Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving skills
- Passionate about hospitality and guest experience
- Able to work independently and take initiative
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a hospitality management or supervisory role
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Experience with stock management, cellar management, and cash handling
- Personal Licence holder (essential)
- First Aid certification (desirable)
